More details around plans to charge Wellingtonians for parking at train stations

More details around plans to charge Wellingtonians for parking at train stations

The regional council is considering the move once integrated ticketing comes into force - to encourage people to think about whether they need to drive to take the train.

Regional Council Chair Daran Ponter says charging will assist the network - by forcing people to think about their car use.

He says further bus services, and a push of walking and cycling, would result in a lower use of carparks.
