The District Council is encouraging people from Greymouth's slip-hit Arnott Heights - to consider staying with friends or family

Wild weather this week cut access to Milton Road - isolating about 50 homes.

Council geographical engineers confirm a large chunk of the hill side could come down any time, and more rain is expected tomorrow.

There's been limited access this afternoon - but that's now closed off .

Council says staff and contractors will stay on site, and will erect a contact point in the local park.
