    Reduce demand for water

    Reduce demand for water

That's the message to Gisborne residents - as urgent repairs are taking place on a pipe - which is impacting the amount of water that's going to the city.

The Gisborne District Council says its producing water but it's not enough to keep up with the increase in demand.

Reservoirs are under pressure - with residents told to avoid non-essential outdoor water use like filling pools or using sprinklers - through to Monday.

The council says residents should be thinking about conserving water as we head into what's expected to be a dry summer.
