The drowning deaths of eight children in the 2021-2022 summer highlights the need to closely supervise young children near water

Coroner Michael Robb has released his findings on the deaths in the ocean, a river, and public and private pools.

He says to be effective supervision should include direct physical contact, such as holding a child, or their hand.

Robb's recommended upgrading public pool signs - and selling temporary pools 1.2 metres-or-higher with a gated entry.
