    Police have closed access to Battle Hill Forest Park - as searches for a downed helicopter continue north of Wellington


    An automated alert signalled a crash near Paekakariki Hill Road at 7.30am.

    The search area is believed to be in densely packed bush, with no confirmation of numbers onboard

    MP for Otaki and ex-Air Force helicopter pilot, Tim Costley, says there's a wide range of possible causes, and his thoughts are with those involved.
