    Firefighters have contained all the wildfires that were burning in Canterbury today


    Crews at Broomfield, near Amberley, have been mopping up and three crews will remain to monitor the blaze overnight.

    Evacuated residents can now return home.

    Other fires have been burning in the McKenzie Country, Springfield, Selwyn, Waipara.

    Fire and Emergency says up to 40 appliances, including helicopters, have been used to fight the blazes today.
