    More than a dozen police vehicles and armed officers descended on a South Auckland suburb overnight after a person was stabbed and critically injured


    Police say they were called to Wallace Rd in Papatoetoe just after 9pm last night.

    The critically injured person was taken to Middlemore Hospital and is now in a stable condition.

    Police were speaking to witnesses overnight and say there is no risk to the wider public as those involved were known to each other.
