Kiwis are getting better at speaking Te Reo Maori, and are more supportive of its use in day-to-day life

Kiwis are getting better at speaking Te Reo Maori, and are more supportive of its use in day-to-day life

Stats NZ data shows that in the past four years, everyday Te Reo proficiency for those aged 15 and over has jumped from 24 to 30 percent.

Te Reo Writer and Advocate Stacey Morrison says it's a relief to see the language grow and flourish.

She says Te Reo has nearly been lost before, so we should never be complacent about the language's health.
