The Government's transparency watch-dog is calling out the Maori Development Minister

Willie Jackson's fallen short of the Ombudsman's expectations, with too many slow responses to Official Information Act requests.

In a statement, the Ombudsman expressed concern there had been a trend of human error causing delays in responding to information requests in the Minister's office.

The watch dog emphasised that lack of compliance from Jackson's office was unacceptable.

Jackson has apologised for failing to meet the expected standards on at least three occasions.
