    A potential shake-up of the status quo


    20-year-old Hana-Rawhiti Maipi-Clarke is set to be revealed at number four on Te Pati Maori's list, behind co-leaders Debbie Ngarewa-Packer and Rawiri Waititi, and former Labour MP Meka Whaitiri.

    Chief Political Reporter Aaron Dahmen says polling suggests Waititi will hold on to Waiariki, Ngarewa-Packer will win Te Tai Hau-a-uru and Whaitiri has a chance of retaining Ikaroa-Rawhiti.

    That would essentially leave Maipi-Clarke with an armchair ride to Parliament, if the polls stack up.

    He says we're used to seeing people in their 30s, 40s and 50s in Parliament, and a 20-year-old would certainly be a fresh face.
