Labour's Peeni Henare says the Government's priorities are off, in response to efforts to redesign the passport, with the English text above te reo Maori

Minister of Internal Affairs, Brooke van Velden, says the new design will have English first -- as consistent with the Government's stance.

Henare's been at Auckland's Otara Market this morning, as part of his campaign for the Tamaki Makaurau by-election, on September 6.

He says the Government should be concentrating on the cost of living.

Henare says instead National is focusing on silly games.
