Mystery over a potential murder, down a quiet Gisborne street in the early hours of the morning

A man died in Gisborne Hospital today, after being admitted at around 4am with severe injuries.

Police say initial enquiries indicate the man, sustained his injuries at a home on Tolerton Avenue, where a scene guard is in place.

New Zealand Herald reporter James Pocock, has been at the scene and spoken to neighbours.

He says they heard nothing coming from the house, and their dogs were also quiet the whole night.
