    Field athlete Lauren Bruce has failed to advance to the women's hammer throw final at the World Athletics Championships in Tokyo


    Her best effort of 69.19 metres was only enough for 19th in qualifying - with the top 12 moving on to the decider.

    Elsewhere, Sam Tanner has missed out on the men's 1500 metre semifinals, after finishing 10th in his heat.
