Tom Walsh is vowing to be back - after an injury in the men's shot put final scuppered his chances of another Olympic medal

The two-time bronze medallist has registered three no throws in Paris - hobbling away in visible pain after his second attempt.

Walsh attempt a third throw ended up just a few metres into the shot put quadrant.

He says he's likely torn his adductor or hip flexor muscle - having battled niggles in that area over the past month.

Countryman Jacko Gill finished sixth - a metre down on bronze.

World record holder Ryan Crouser's won a third straight gold - finishing 75 centimetres clear of fellow American Joe Kovacs.
