It's been a deadly weekend for motorcyclists on South Island roads

Kaiapoi local Craig Percasky was killed on the West Coast, during a Pike River Memorial ride.

Another motorcyclist died at the scene of a crash, closing the Lindis Pass on State Highway 8.

Motorcycle safety advocate Aaron Slight says more motorcyclists are on the road this time of year, and all motorists have to start being better aware of their surroundings.

He's advising motorcyclists ride as if no one can see them.
