Selwyn District Council has opened consultation on a new Deed of Licence for Upper Selwyn Hutts

Selwyn District Council has opened consultation on a new Deed of Licence for Upper Selwyn Hutts

The land near Lake Ellesmere is Crown-owned and managed by the council - and includes a mix of temporary and permanent residences.

The current licence has been extended several times - and the council wants to ensure the settlement is responsibly managed.

It's seeking feedback on the length of future licence terms, whether serious environmental events should end a licence early, and how it should undertake building inspections.

    Consultation ends July 21.
