Kiwis spent big on Boxing Day bargains

Kiwis spent big on Boxing Day bargains

Worldline NZ's figures show 67.7-million dollars was processed through non-food Core Retail merchants yesterday.

That's a spending increase of more than 13-percent from last year -- with Whanganui recording the largest growth, up 33-percent from 2023.

Chief Sales Officer Bruce Proffit, notes Core Retail spending - including Food and Liquor - in the three days before Christmas did not match last year.

He says it averaged 179-million dollars daily, a small dip of two-percent.
