A look into what may be in store for New Zealand's economy this year

A look into what may be in store for New Zealand's economy this year

Westpac's released its first Economic Overview for 2025 - in which economists are increasingly confident the economy's begun to turn the corner.

It's expected that borrowing costs will fall - stimulating household spending and growing our GDP.

House prices are predicted to rise about 7-percent.

Senior Economist Kelly Eckhold says we're moving away from the troubles of the past few years.

He says the cost of living increases that've been really high, should be much lower this year.

Eckhold says Donald Trump's proposed tarrifs could change things.
