It's too early to say whether growth in the labour market will continue

It's too early to say whether growth in the labour market will continue

SEEK's January employment report shows job ads rose four percent month-on-month, the strongest growth in five months.

All regions, apart from Taranaki, recorded growth - the largest jumps were seen in Tasman and Marlborough.

Country Manager Rob Clark says Otago has also seen notable growth.

He says the region is up eight percent in January and only down one percent year on year - largely driven by the Hospitality and Tourism sector.
