Questions over how proposed changes to the Foreign Investment Fund will ensure migrant workers stay longer

Questions over how proposed changes to the Foreign Investment Fund will ensure migrant workers stay longer

The changes will allow new migrants to be taxed on a realisation basis, for interests not easily disposable and acquired before coming to New Zealand.

Phase One Ventures chief executive Mahesh Muralidhar , says another opportunity to take things further for keeping companies here, is to reduce corporate tax.

But he says that alone won't be enough.

Muralidhar says they could also reduce income from the first 500-thousand-dollars made overseas, which then trigger entrepreneurs to make that overseas dollar.
