Changes to the Protection of Personal and Property Rights Act have shown little consideration for intellectually disabled Kiwis

Changes to the Protection of Personal and Property Rights Act have shown little consideration for intellectually disabled Kiwis

The Public Trust is now charging almost 250-dollars per hour to review property managers' annual financial statements.

A government subsidy previously protected people with less than 20-thousand-dollars in assets from these costs - but has now been taken away.

IHC Advocate Shara Turner says policies like this always reflect the same thing.

She says there's very little understanding of what it's like to live with an intellectual disability - or to be looking after a family member who has one.
