Co-funding, drawn from a new Regional Infrastructure Fund, will help speed progress on multiple projects.
That includes a programme to adapt critical aged infrastructure across Canterbury -- and fast-tracked flood works in the south of the region.
Further upgrades to the Rangitata River are on the cards as well -- to protect roads, railways, and bridges.
ECan Acting Chair, Craig Pauling says it's a great start, and the co-funding will complement increased investment agreed upon in its Long Term Plan.
