The Climate Commission's calling for carbon credits to stay the same price

The Climate Commission's calling for carbon credits to stay the same price

Chief Executive Jo Hendy says this would help ensure investments needed to meet emissions reduction targets, and retain market confidence.

The Commission's recommending the volume of units auctioned remain the same over the next two years - but suggests it could offer more from 2028.

Final decisions on the emissions trading scheme units and pricing will be made by the Government, to come into force in 2026.
