Developing and operating a retirement village isn't for those wanting immediate gains

Developing and operating a retirement village isn't for those wanting immediate gains

A new study by Grant Thornton New Zealand can now reveal an owner of an average village waits more than 20 years before they see financial gains.

Business advisory partner Pam Newlove says this raises questions around how elderly will be housed in the future.

She says there has to be people willing to put capital at risk for that length of time as Government isn't increasing funding for elderly housing and healthcare.
