Higher prices for dairy and meat - have helped improve New Zealand's trade balance

The value of our exported goods rose 9.7 percent last month, alongside imported goods falling 7.2 percent.

The value of our butter and milk fat exports increased by half last month - and our milk, cream and cheese went up by a third.

We imported 3.8 billion dollars more than we exported in the year to May.

That's down from a deficit of 10 billion the year before.
