A 50-metre penalty kick from Luke Metcalf has seen the Warriors pip the Brisbane Broncos 20-to-18 in golden point in their NRL clash at Mt Smart

Broncos fullback Reece Walsh sent the golden point kickoff dead, handing the hosts the match winning penalty after scores were tied at 18-all.

Warriors skipper Mitch Barnett says Metcalf's confidence will make him great.

The Warriors jump to third on the ladder.

Elsewhere, the Penrith Panthers have belted the Sydney Roosters 40-to-12 to end their five-game losing streak.
