Coco Gauff has overcome windy weather and an early deficit in the final to win her maiden French Open women's singles title in Paris

The 21-year-old American dropped the first set to top-seeded Aryna Sabalenka , before fighting back to win in three sets.

Gauff says her best tennis wasn't necessary in tricky conditions.

Gauff is the first American women to capture the singles title at Roland Garros since Serena Williams in 2015.
