A change of luck for Super Rugby playoff sides

A change of luck for Super Rugby playoff sides

The Lucky Loser format for the top-six has been tweaked after just one season, with the highest-ranked first round loser sliding to bottom seed for the remainder of the finals.

This year, the Chiefs were docked just one seed spot for their qualifying final defeat to the Blues - meaning they were still able to host a home semi-final the following week.

Super Rugby CEO Jack Mesley says they agreed with calls that it wasn't enough of a punishment.
