England batter Dan Lawrence has invoked a T20 spirit at county level for Surrey

England batter Dan Lawrence has invoked a T20 spirit at county level for Surrey

Worcestershire spinner and fellow international Shoaib Bashir went for 38 runs off an over during the second day of the first-class match at New Road.

Lawrence tonked five sixes before the next ball drifted down the legside for five wides - a two-run no-ball and single followed before the last delivery was blocked by Dan Worrell.

Bashir's over is the joint-most expensive over in county championship history alongside the 38 conceded by Alex Tudor for Surrey against Lancashire in 1998.

Lawrence was eventually out for 175.
