Logan Ullrich has delivered a shock single sculls gold at the World Cup rowing regatta in Lucerne

Logan Ullrich has delivered a shock single sculls gold at the World Cup rowing regatta in Lucerne

He was third at the 500-metre mark before dropping to fourth through 1500.

The sculling novice then stunned with his sprint, overtaking more experienced rivals from Belarus, Norway and Germany.

Ullrich's delighted in his second international regatta since switching from the coxless four.

The men's pair and double both took silver and the women's four earned bronze.
