A warning over dodgy social media accounts asking for koha, over Dame Tariana Turia's health

A warning over dodgy social media accounts asking for koha, over Dame Tariana Turia's health

The decades-long political activist and Te Pati Maori co-founder, has suffered a stroke.

In a social media post, iwi collective Te Ranga Tupua says she has not been given much time - but that she's surrounded by the love and support of her whanau.

It's urging people to be wary of suspicious friend requests, or people claiming to have updates about her condition, asking for money.

The iwi collective has thanked those who have sent messages of support, and say any official statement will be made from them. 01-02-25 1330
