The Public Service Association says the Children's Minister's u-turn on funding cuts shows a lack of foresight

The Public Service Association says the Children's Minister's u-turn on funding cuts shows a lack of foresight

An Oranga Tamariki contract review threatened to pull funding from the 0800 What's Up helpline run by Barnardos Aotearoa, in July.

Revelations the service could be shut down without funding - has prompted a u-turn from Minister Karen Chhour .

PSA National Secretary Duane Leo says the cuts haven't been planned, funded, or resources.

He says its resulting in a haphazard approach which is affecting the front line.
