A signal people want more action to keep insurance affordable in the face of climate change

A signal people want more action to keep insurance affordable in the face of climate change

A poll commissioned by insurance company IAG shows 90 percent of respondents anticipate more extreme storms.

More than half say the Government should reduce the risk of climate hazards - to help bring premiums down.

IAG Climate spokesperson Bryce Davies says people's expectations are that we don't develop in flood plains, and invest in things like flood walls and better drainage.

He says we should make sure our buildings and infrastructure are more resilient, and think about how we move people out of the way when the risk gets too high.
