Directors appear to be keeping realistic despite satisfaction economic recovery is around the corner

The latest Institute of Directors survey shows more than half expect improvement by the end of the year.

Institute Governance Leadership Centre General Manager Guy Beatson says 30-percent of boards budgeted for improved finances, 37-percent expect no change, while 33-percent expect a decline.

He says directors are doing it tough - especially smaller companies - but are maintaining optimism.
