    The Government's planning to use AI to grade almost all school assessments within three years


    It's part of wider plans to scrap NCEA - replacing it with a system emphasising literacy and numeracy more.

    AI is already used for some marking, but secondary teachers union PPTA is unsure if it's advanced enough for the complexities of some grading.

    President Chris Abercrombie says it's proved promising for simpler tests.

    He says the NZQA's been impressed with it, checked by human markers.
