The Privacy Commissioner is expecting Manage My Health to demonstrate it has appropriate safeguards in place following a data breach

The Privacy Commissioner is expecting Manage My Health to demonstrate it has appropriate safeguards in place following a data breach

New Zealand's largest personal health portal - has confirmed unauthorised access to its systems.

It contains the private health records of around 1.8 million users, with more than 100-thousand New Zealanders possibly affected.

The Commissioner's office, says its first focus is always supporting affected agencies, to minimise the threat to individuals.

But it expects Manage My Health to address anywhere, where safeguards were insufficient.
