The Real Estate Authority is re-issuing a warning against taking on real estate agency work without a licence

In the last three years the organisation has seen 66 reports of unlicensed work - 27 of those in the 2023 financial year.
Chief Executive Belinda Moffat says they're concerned the issue is persisting, especially within an evolving property sector.
She says if they don't have a licence, consumers don't the benefit of their agencies protections.
Moffat says they take and educate approach, but can issue formal warnings or prosecute.
