ACC's celebrating a rise in concussion claims

ACC's celebrating a rise in concussion claims

It's been a year since it launched the National Concussion Guidelines for community sport.

There were about 12-thousand claims for sports-related concussions last year - almost 2000 more than 2023.

Injury Prevention Partner Natalie Hardaker says it shows more people are taking the right steps.

She says the guidelines focus on winter sports, as they make up 60-percent of claims.

Hardaker says they hope to see an increase in other areas, like mountain biking, in the coming years as well.
