An increase in New Zealanders attending a gym could prevent 7600-chronic diseases a year

An increase in New Zealanders attending a gym could prevent 7600-chronic diseases a year

A new report's revealed members are 54-percent more likely than non-members to meet World Health Organisation exercise guidelines.

It saw 67-percent of non-gym-goers cite affordability as their main reason for not joining.

Exercise NZ CEO Richard Beddie says exercise fundamentally reduces the risk of every major killer.

It significantly helps cardiovascular health, mental health and reduces the risk of strokes.
