A range of salad products, sold at supermarkets, have been recalled for potentially containing metal filings

The Speirs Foods products can be purchased from Fresh Choice, New World, PAK'nSAVE and Woolworths.

New Zealand Food Safety deputy director-general Vincent Arbuckle, says the metal filings could cause injury if eaten.

He says anyone who has the salads should return them to store for a refund or throw them out.
