    WorkSafe has begun making initial inquiries about the death of Nelson police officer Lyn Fleming


    Fleming died and another officer was critically injured, when a vehicle drove into them in the early hours of New Year's Day.

    A person, with interim name suppression, is facing numerous charges including murder and attempted murder.

    A WorkSafe spokesperson has told our newsroom, it's been notified and is making enquiries to inform its involvement, alongside the criminal investigation being led by Police.

    The agency says everyone who goes to work should come home healthy and safe to their whanau at the end of the day, particularly those who spend their careers ensuring the safety of others across New Zealand
