A man's facing multiple charges -- including arson -- following a house fire in Nelson

A man's facing multiple charges -- including arson -- following a house fire in Nelson

Emergency services were called to the blaze Konini Street property last Wednesday night, and one person was seriously injured.

Fire and Emergency says the occupants of the home were lucky to escape alive, because there were no working smoke alarms.

Police are now appealing for the public's help, to identify two witnesses who were travelling in a vehicle that night.

A 47-year-old man's been remanded in custody in relation to the incident, and is due to reappear in court next month.
