    A drug farmer built a 'wall-less' structure on Waikato swamplands to harvest cannabis


    Open Justice reports, Police discovered about one thousand plants, described as a large-scale commercial operation on the shores of Lake Waahi in Huntly in 2022.

    Jason Edward Evans has been jailed for two years and three months in the Hamilton District Court.

    His co-offender, champion New Zealand powerlifter Jayson George Woods was sentenced earlier to home detention.

    Evans had told Police he'd harvested more than 200 thousand dollars worth of cannabis from the plots.
