    Warnings from Worksafe after serious company failures led to a man dying when his crane touched powerlines


    Wesley Talakai was killed in 2023 delivering timber to a residential building site in Auckland's Greenhithe.

    The 38-year-old had raised concerns with his employer, NZ Solid Limited, about the site's proximity to lines.

    They were operating within 2.5 metres - which breached the four-metre legal limit.

    The company's been ordered to pay 330-thousand dollars.
