    A Bay of Plenty man has pleaded not guilty to manslaughter, over a hunting death in Minginui in March


    46 year old Mark Jefferson has appeared in the High Court at Rotorua on manslaughter and two other hunting-related charges .

    It's alleged he unlawfully fired at 72 year old Kawerau man Stuart Stobie on March 21st.

    Jefferson's also charged with killing a deer in the Kaingaroa Forest without the authority to be there, and unlawfully possessing a Tikka Point 308 rifle.

    He's remanded on bail, and a trial is set for May 2027
