A 65-year-old Auckland gun shop owner can be named after illegally selling ammunition and a firearm

A 65-year-old Auckland gun shop owner can be named after illegally selling ammunition and a firearm

The man was caught and arrested in January last year following a covert undercover police sting.

He can now be identified as Willian Neil Cleverdon after admitting to 15 criminal charges.

It includes using a document to gain a pecuniary advantage, selling a firearm to an unlicensed individual, and unlawful possession of firearms.

The undercover officers posed as unlicensed customers at his Helensville store - Will's Outfitters.
