The family of a Christchurch mother says they will be haunted by her murder

The family of a Christchurch mother says they will be haunted by her murder

Nathan Boulter's been sentenced to life, with a minimum of 17 years without parole, for fatally stabbing Chantal McDonald in Parklands last July.

He was previously jailed for a 2011 kidnapping and assault on Great Barrier Island.

McDonald's Aunty Lyn says the emotional toll on their family has been immense.

She says they're upset one minute, disconnected the next - and it's extremely hard to carry on with life.
