A computer science expert's reinforced that AI shouldn't be used to cut corners

Science Minister Shane Reti's announced New Zealand's first AI strategy - saying it'll show the world we're ready to take advantage of the technology.

He claims it could add 76-billion dollars to our GDP by 2038.

Auckland University Computer Science Professor, Michael Witbrock, says AI shouldn't be used to reduce effort, but instead as a tool to make life quicker.

He says it'll enable people to do things that were impossible before, because they were too expensive.
