Tasman residents have been left with conflicting messages over what to do when mobile phones have no service

Tasman residents have been left with conflicting messages over what to do when mobile phones have no service

A phone and internet outage in Golden Bay yesterday, affected 111 calls.

Telecommunications Forum Chief Executive Paul Brislen says even if the signal is down, emergency calls can still go through.

He says you should try calling regardless - as 111 gets priority on all network providers.
