Home detention for an Auckland primary school teacher - for grooming an 11-year-old boy

Home detention for an Auckland primary school teacher - for grooming an 11-year-old boy

The 35-year-old messaged the child and sent nude photos via social media and Google Docs - then spent the night with him.

She's pleaded guilty to grooming for sexual conduct with a young person - and indecency with a boy under 12.

Combined, they're punishable by up to 13 years in prison.

Judge Paul Murray has ruled the woman needn't register as a sex offender, but she won't get permanent name suppression.

His sentence reflects credits for her guilty pleas, rehabilitation efforts, lack of prior convictions and remorse.
